We Are Busy Raising The Volume!
A quick overview
The Four Four Beat Project, originally established in 2007 as the HipHop2020 Curriculum Project, is a virtual resource inclusive of digital products for use in Hip Hop-inspired learning environments. We are partners with the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) and the School of Education at Virginia Tech. Four Four focuses on the restoration, preservation, and digitization of original Hip Hop-inspired and arts-based cultural artifacts for K-12 and post-secondary educational purposes. Our mission is to serve our audience with a one-stop experience offering virtually-accessible resources concerning Hip Hop pedagogy, praxis, research, preservation, and evaluation. Our aims are uniquely situated at the nexus of art, music, social justice, technology, and education. As we raise the volume on culturally-resilient teaching and learning , we remain committed to the needs of the next generation of under-represented leaders, innovators, and change agents. Every thing we do from programming to educational gaming focuses on leveraging the arts to promote social justice, engage the authentic leadership capacities of youth and youth influencers, and enhance to creative capacities of the next generation of innovators.
